Being a vegan myself, I know how hard it can be to find awesome places to eat which don't cost an arm and a leg, so I've put together a blog post of the best places to eat in Liverpool if you fancy a vegan meal on Valentine's Day.
|| Mowgli Street Food || Mowgli is all about how Indians eat at home and on their streets. Mowgli was born to feed the raw need Indians have for tiffins full of fresh bright intense flavour. Mowgli is not about the intimate, hushed dining experience. It is about the smash and grab zing of healthy, light, virtuosic herbs and spices.
|| Busaba Restaurant || Busaba is a Thai flower. Differing from formal dining establishments, Busaba represents a Thai casual dining venue, offering a one-course dining experience devised to feed you with minimal fuss. After being in business for fifteen years, Busaba still offers a much coveted, flavoursome selection of freshly prepared salads, stir-fries and curries. The menu also features Asian-inspired juices and smoothies, as well as a simple yet selective wine list. I was lucky enough to visit Busaba Liverpool when it first opened to sample the menu, you can read all about my experience by clicking here.
|| Yukti Restaurant || Yukti is all about art and they believe that cooking is an art form. They want to bring you modern Indian food that marries classic ingredients with more surprising twists so that you get to enjoy an original and enjoyable dining experience. They want you to know that they will always give you a warm welcome and premium service with a real taste of India in sumptuous surroundings, knowing that everything that is prepared for you is cooked with care and attention to detail. they would also like everyone to come back over and over again and become part of their Yukti family.
|| The Egg Vegetarian Cafe || Located in the heart of the Liverpool, just off Bold Street, The Egg Café occupies the light and airy loft space of an old Victorian warehouse building, affording a panoramic view of the city centre. As well as being Liverpool's premier vegetarian/vegan restaurant, The Egg Café is also an independent art gallery and a popular meeting place. The relaxed and bohemian atmosphere attracts a diverse crowd and is especially popular amongst artists and students.
|| Xi Yang Yang* || Xi Yang Yang* is a Chinese takeaway located in West Derby, Liverpool. Order some yummy traditional vegetarian and vegan Chinese food from their menu on Just Eat* and let them bring it to your door! Their prices are unbelievably great for the amazing food they do, and I can honestly say from experience you will fall in love with this place and their food, and never order from another takeaway again.
|| The Royal Standard || Fancy going to a good old-fashioned English pub? Then look no further than The Royal Standard which is a big, friendly locals’ pub in the significant Liverpool suburb of West Derby. The pub shares a street with the entrance of Melwood, Liverpool Football Club’s training ground, which is just a stone throw away from the pub’s front doors. The Royal Standard is a prime spot for experiencing West Derby, as it's just a short drive from Liverpool City Centre and a short walk from West Derby Village. They offer everything you would look for in a pub; private car parking, football sky sports showing on it's nine TVs, free wifi, disabled facilities, sports season tickets, gift cards, various sized function rooms, it's a wonderful family-friendly place, and a fantastic beer garden - which I have made some awesome drunk memories in during my teenage years so I can highly recommend.
Have you visited any of these places, what are your thoughts?
With love, Alisha Valerie. x
