Vegan Summer Cocktails | DIY

When I was asked by BBC Good Food* if I would share some of their best summer cocktail recipes on my blog I was a little hesitant as I really don't like sharing creative "do-it-yourself" things on my blog unless I have come up with them myself, to be fair I don't like sharing anything at all on my blog unless it's wrote by myself completely. However, after searching through their website I fell in love with two of their vegan summer cocktails that I just had to share them all with you.

STRAWBERRY GIN

Capture the true taste of summer with this berry-infused spirit that makes
stunning gin 'n' tonic or base for a fruity cocktail.

What You Need
 - 700ml bottle of gin
 - 400g punnet of sliced strawberries
 - 100g caster sugar

What To Do
 - Mix the gin with the strawberries and caster sugar in a large bowl and pour into a 1.5-litre sterilised Kilner jar.
 - Store in the fridge and stir every two days for three weeks. Strain through coffee filters or muslin cloth to serve.

WATERMELON & STRAWBERRY SLUSHIE

What's more refreshing than eating a slice of cool watermelon on a
hot summer's day? Drinking an iced fruit slushie!

What You Need
 - 1 small watermelon
 - 225g punnet of ripe strawberries
 - Juice of 2 limes

What To Do
 - The day or morning before you want to drink the slushie cut the watermelon into chunks and remove the skin and seeds. Place half the watermelon wedges into a large freezable bag then pop in the freezer for a few hours.
 - Once frozen, blitz the frozen watermelon with the rest of the watermelon, strawberries and lime juice until smooth and slushy. Pour into glasses and sip through a straw.

Do you like to sound of any of these cocktails?
What is your favourite summer cocktail over-all?

With love, Alisha Valerie. x
