Beauty Things I Suck At | Tag

This tag has been going around the internet for a really long time now and apparently Fleur De Force and Ingrid Nilsen Nilsen made this tag? I think, either way you can watch their video on what are their beauty things they suck at by clicking here.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint | Review

I bought this nail polish a couple of months ago in Boots when I was on a shopping haul spree and I fell instantly in love with it. It's such a beautiful colour (I own it in shade 430 pink punch), and its just been a great colour for my nails this summer. Its a beautiful bight fusia pink that leaves your nails in a extra glossy shine in just one coat.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation | Review

Hello beautiful's,

As you can tell from the title this is going to be another review today, but I've been wanting to do this review for a really long time but every time I planned to something had came up so I am finally getting around to editing this blog post and putting it up.

Garnier Ultimate Blends Honey Treasures | Review

Hello beautiful's,

You may have seen already on my instagram that I done a tiny review on these products already but I loved them so much and I thought I would do a more detailed one about them all as it was requested by a couple of you.

A couple of weeks ago Garnier got in touch with me and asked if I would like to try their New Ultimate Blends Honey Treasures and Honey Bee Propolis products, since I've never heard of them before (probably because they were new), I said yes.

Barry M ShowGirl Mascara | Review

I didn't actually even know about this mascara if I am honest until my lovely husband Phil surprised me and bought it for me, and he made a wonderful choice.

This is one of the best mascaras I have ever used and owned in my make up collection since I started using make up.

Makeup Kits | Home Makeup Collection

Essentional Items To Own In Your Starter Makeup Kit | Makeup Kits: Part 1/6 - Home Makeup Storage & Collection

Hello beautiful's,

Welcome to my first in a six part series of "what to keep in your ___ makeup bag". I thought this would be a little fun series to do and to share with you all my thoughts of what makeup is best to keep in certain bags as a makeup artist, in my opinion anyway.

- This first blog is going to be all about 'home makeup' or 'start kits makeup'. In my opinion its best to organise your makeup either in your bedroom drawer, on top of a counter, in a bag, or in a box.
- Remember to keep basics and items used only occasionally septate.
- Also at least twice a year make sure your colours and formulas are working, and have a clear out at least once a year of all makeup.

Meet Phil | The Boyfriend Tag

I've been tagged in The Boyfriend Tag, well I don't have a boyfriend but I do have a husband so I ropped him into doing this tag with me as he's been my boyfriend in the past obviously so I think it's pretty much the same.

Glossy Box | July 2015

As you may have guessed this month's Glossy Box is beautifully French themed, and as a lot of you probably know already I adore everything about this months box!

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet | Review

Hello beautiful's,

I received an email last week from Dior asking me if I would like to review their "Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet Eau de Toilette", and as a Dior fan, I obviously said yes!

A couple of days later I received a sample bottle of Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet Eau de Toilette and opened it straight away. I usually wait a little while with perfumes as I like to usually use a perfume at a time when a company asked me do a review but I was so excited to try this one as I had never used or smelt it before.

Makeup Artist's Essential Tools

Hey beautiful's,

Firstly, this blog post is super long so go grab yourself a drink or some nibbles and get comfortable!

Since putting a picture up (I think it was on twitter?) around winter time I have had a lot of questions asking me why I have a massive collection on make up brushes and beauty tools. Although I am now a full time blogger, I studied to be a make up artist and beautician for five years. And over that time I developed a massive make up brush collection.

I thought I would share with you my thoughts on what make up brushes and tools you should buy (in my opinion) if you are thinking of becoming a make up artist.
Also I keep getting asked what my favourite brand of make up brushes are: my favourite brushes are Bobbi Brown for designer or Barry M for high street.

Perfect Summer Cocktails

Hey beautiful's,

Summer is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate than a good ole' fashioned bbq party? I plan on having one for my birthday in July! So what better way to cool down in the summer time than quick, simple and cheap home-made cocktails!

Mix up your drinks repertoire this summer with these summer cocktails that are a doddle to make. Tip: for the shaken ones, simple use a clean jam jar with a lid.

George 'Cut-out Shoulder Dress' | Review

Hello beautiful's,

Summer is here and it's time to get our legs out in dresses and skirts.

I loved this dress the first time I seen it. It's not really something that I would usually buy so I thought I could take a chance and buy it to see what it is like, and for only £10 I really couldn't go wrong.

When it came in the post (which surprisingly only took three days) I had bought three other dresses and two skirts and other bits but I actually loved this so much I wore it right away!

My Morning Facial Routine | Summer 2015

Good morning beautiful's,

I'm going to be talking you all through my skincare routine today. This blog post has been requested so many times since doing my morning skincare routine last year and I hadn't changed much back then so I didn't want to do an updates one until now. I am going to be doing an updated morning routine for you all too (as it's also been requested so much!) which is going to be up on my blog sometime next week (I think!) so don't forget to come back and check if you want to see that.

This skincare routine is best for my skin. I don't usually buy high-end designer skincare products as my skin is so sensitive and red that I have wasted so much money in the past buying and trying products that were wrong for me, so now I stick to high-street products and this skincare routine actually works a lot better for my skin.
I think everything in my morning skincare routine, other than the Nivea Creme, has changed since last year so let's get into it...

BirchBox | July 2015

Hello beautiful's,

I was so excited this afternoon when the postman dropped off a parcel for me, and even more excited when I seen that it was my BirchBox.
This month BirchBox have swapped the box for a bag, and I personally think they are awesome!
They are great to take to the beach, or the park, or on holiday and I love that they are coloured see-through decent sized bags which you can hold a good amount of stuff in them, and they are just perfect for the summer weather.

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara | Review

Hey beautiful's,

Unlike some other volumising mascaras that only create volume at the base, new False Lash Effect Mascara wraps each lash right to the tip for a false lash effect. Max Factor's biggest ever brush with 50% more bristles gives a sweep of never-ending volume for a glamorous look you never thought your own lashes could give you. False Lash Effect's biggest brush ever doubles lash size appearance vs. bare lashes. Patented Liquid Lash™ formula coats lashes from root to tip, no flaking or smudging gives lovely lash confidence. It's ophthalmologically tested!

Mason Summer Glass Jars | Review

I seen these on Home Bargains instagram photo post they did and just had to go out and buy some. I bought two baby pink coloured ones and two baby blue coloured ones.
These are just perfect for those lazy, hot summer days and nights; these iconic mason jar glasses feature the classic screw top design, ensuring that you can easily grip your beverage, and focus on enjoying yourself.

Emmi Caffe Latte Cappuccino | Review

If you read my monthly favourites for May you'll know that I was loving the Starbucks mocha and caramel latte drinks (the glass bottled ones) and I must admit I loved them so much that I didn't think I could find anything even has close to as good as them but I was in Tesco and they had sold out of the Starbucks drinks (I was gutted!) so I decided that I would try these Emmi Caffe Latte coffee drinks instead as they worked out as 5 for £5 whereas the Starbucks ones are 4 for £5.

June Product Empties | Mini Reviews

Hey beautiful's,

I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful sunshine as much as I am!

This Spring time, and early Summer time, I have been using so many different products and I had twenty empty products to review so I put them all into a bag (a Tesco store plastic bag) to do a massive products empties blog post and one of the guys threw the bag out thinking it was rubbish because it was in a Tesco bag. I was gutted. But it was also my fault for putting empty products into a Tesco store bag.

Within one week I had a few built up again so instead of my planned massive product empties blog, here is a smaller one for you all:

Benefit - Get Bent, Wonder Lifting Mascara.*
It's a push-up bra for your lashes... lifts, curls. lengthens and long lasting. Its a whole new angel on mascara! The  scientifically angled brush literally lights, lengthens and curls... It's a push-up bra for your lashes!
How to use: apply the jet-black, long-lasting mascara daily for great looking eyelashes. Here's how: Rest the base of your upper lashes on top of the angled brush and gently push the brush upwards to lift, lengthen and curl your lashes for long-lasting finish. Use as many coats as needed. Apply OVER existing mascara... Surprise! It's a midday makeover.
I love this mascara, it's been around for a while not and it's been my 'go-to' mascara for some time. I love how much it makes my lashes look like they are so long, like I'm wearing false eye lashes, and then really make my eye's pop and make them look so big and bright. If you've never tried this mascara, I would really suggest trying it at least once.

Pretty (By Quest) - Make up Setting Spray
Looking fabulous all day and night is just a quick spritz away with the Pretty Makeu p Setting Spray. Its unscented formula holds make up in place and reduces the need for touch-ups throughout the day, leaving you more time to be gorgeous!
How to use: apply make up as normal, shake well before use and then holding at arm's length with your eyes and mouth closed spray into the air towards your face until you have desired coverage.
Caution: External application only. Not suitable for children. In case of irritation, discontinue use immediately. Do not spray towards eyes or inflamed skin. In case of contact with eyes or inflamed skin, rise immediately and thoroughly with water.
This stuff is amazing! I bought this on just simply because I wanted a new make up setting spray, and because it was so cheap (only £2! Bargain!). It makes my make up last all day and all night and doesn't make my face feel or look oily at all.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation
SPF 18 Light Perfecting Radiance Foundation in shade 010 Light Porcelain. This does not come with any instructions or funky parts of text or anything.
If you've been following me or reading my blogs for a while you'll know that I adore this foundation. I have such bad sensitive dry skin with ache around my chin then trying to find a good foundation for all area's of my face, and because my skin is so pale, can be extremely hard to do.. until I tired this foundation. I cannot rave this up any more without you getting bored, but this is the best foundation I have ever tried in my life.

Soap & Glory 'Clean On Me', Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel*
With natural mandarin peel extract and bonus built-in body lotion. Yes, you can have it all: soft, smooth sexy skin whenever you want it, just... Clean On Me! How to use: apply a handful of 'Clean On Me' to damp skin, rub it into a think, luxurious lather, and then rinse thoroughly.
I have to be honest I'm not a fan at all of this. I used it a few times but it just didn't do much for my skin other than make my skin come out in a red rash and make all of my eczema come out (which made me look horrible). I have heard such great things for this product so I would say give it a shot but stop using right away if you have a break out like I did. I do have to admit, it did smell amazing though.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish*
Daily gentle exfoliation and cleaning, with Mediterranean strawberry extract. Do not use on face. This doesn't come with a how to use but I just used it as a normal body scrub.
I love love love this stuff! And I already know I will be buying it over and over again.

St. Ives Swiss Formula Apricot Scrub*
Invigorating. UK's No. 1 scrub brand, for all skin types.
How to use: moisten face and neck. Gently massage onto skin, avoiding eyes. Rinse well, dry and apply moisturiser as usual. If this product gets into your eyes, rise thoroughly with clean water. Look out for nour New St. Ives Apricot Body Scrubs.
I done a review on this product a while back on my old blog (you can see it by clicking here), and since then since then St. Ives have actually sent me another one just because I loved it so much.

Dove Creme Mousse Body Wash
Visible skin improvement. Rich and creamy nourishment deeply nourishing nutrium moisture. What is the Dove Difference? Creamy nourishment. A beautiful pearlescent creme formula, unlike any other, transforms into a lush lather allowing our highest concentration of Nutrium Moisture to nourish skin deep down for more beautiful skin. For best results use everyday.
Dove, Dove, Dove. How I love thee. I have loved Dove products since before I can remember, I have always used their products as they smell amazing and make my skin feel amazing. This product was no different. I adore this and will be buying more and more in the months to come.

Sensodyne Fluoride Toothpaste*
Specially formulated for people with sensitive teeth, with 24/7 care. Dentist recommended brand. Gentle whitening, helps restore natural whiteness.
Number one dentist recommended brand for sensitive teeth. Dentists have been recommending Sensodyne for many years. Sensodyn Gentle Whitening is a low abrasion, fluoride contrasting tooth past that, when used twice a day, provides 24/7 care for sensitive teeth.

I hope you all enjoyed this blog, sorry it's only a small product empties one! If you have any questions, comments or thoughts please get in touch.

With love,
Alisha Valerie. x

[Disclaimer: Products makes with * were sent to me by various companies to review and/or test out but all thoughts and comments 100% are my own.]

DIY: Deep Cleansing Beauty Facial

Hello beautiful's,

Today’s blog is all about Deep Cleansing and I thought it may be a really fun way of learning you how to do a deep cleanse if I gave you a step-by-step way of doing so on one of your friends. I learned how to do this when I was studying as a make up artist in college before I went to uni so it's been a really long time since I learned it, so I do know what I'm doing now when it comes to doing a deep cleansing facial routine. These steps are going to be really easy to follow and you and your friend (or friend’s) could have a girls night in one night after a long busy week and follow this giving each other a good deep cleanse.

1. Cleansing the face:
Prepare you friend by tucking their hair back with a hair band or head scarf. Cover their body with a warmed sheet and blanket or large bath towel. For comfort you may also like to place a rolled or folded towel under their neck or head for support. Lightly soak a small piece of soft cotton cloth with some cleaner. Try two-thirds soya milk or coconut milk diluted with one-third mineral water, filtered water or rain water. Gently work around the whole face with upward and circular movements.

2. Cleansing the neck:
Ease your friend’s neck to one side and smooth upwards from the upper chest and over the side of the neck and face with the dampened cloth. Complete the sequence over the throat, chin, the side of their face and behind the ears. Repeat two or three times until this side of the face and neck are thoroughly cleansed, then turn head and repeat the procedure on the opposite side.

3. Cleansing in and around the ears:
Dampen a thin part of the cloth and work into the outer part of the ear with one finger, cleansing the tiny crevices with a light pressure. Finish with a complete circle around the base, in the crease near the skull. Cleanse both ears thoroughly in this way.

4. Soothing the face:
Gently relax the facial muscles by soothing over the contours with a scented rose petal or fine textured flower.

5. Drying the forehead:
Arrange a folded pillowcase, made of plain or brushed cotton, into an oblong shape. Place over the forehead and sensitively smooth dry it from the centre of the temples. Repeat two or three times.

6. Drying the side of the face:
Place the long folded edge of the pillowcase down one side of the face, covering the nostril but not the nose, and bisecting the forehead. Lightly press your wording forefinger down the contour of the forehead and covered side of the nose. Then lightly smooth outward over that side of the face using the whole hand. Repeat on the other side of the face.

7. Drying the neck and throat:
Place the folded pillowcase on the upper part of the chest. Hold the edge nearest to the neck and draw upwards over the surface of the throat and neck towards the chin. Repeat two or three times, drying the whole of the neck and throat. As a variation, make a light roll and smooth over the throat with the same upward strokes.

8. Applying a scrub:
Using medium pressure on the face and lighter pressure around the neck, apply your favourite pre-prepared scrub with a natural bristle shaving brush, avoiding the orbits of the eyes and the lips.

9. Massaging in the scrub:
Work the scrub into the neck and throat with light, upward finger strokes. Work the chin with a light massage, using circular movements. Continue with circular movements until you have covered the whole of the face, again avoiding the orbits of the eyes and the lips.
Benefit; the scrub removes and breaks up dead skin and simulates the natural secretion of oils. This helps to prevent drying and ageing of the skin. Even oily skin needs exfoliating. For this type of skin, use a lighter lotion with a touch of fresh lemon or lime juice.

10. Washing off the scrub:
Wash off the scrub with a small, rough flannel, wrung out in warm water or cold rain water or mineral water. Alternatively use the ‘milk’ from two tablespoons of oatmeal in 600ml (1 pint) of hot water and strained. Gently dry the face with a warmed hand towel lightly scented with rosewater.

11. Applying a facial mask:
Using a softer natural bristle make-up brush, make gentle circular movements over the face as you apply the preparation. Avoid the orbits of the eyes and lips.

12. Setting the mask:
To keep the mask moist once applied, cover the face with thin slices of peeled cucumber. Leave the mask for about ten minutes.

13. Removing the mask:
Remove the sliced cucumber and the surface mask preparation with a cloth dampened with filtered warm water or cold rain water, mineral water or rose water. Pat the face dry with a warm, soft hand towel.

14. Nourishing and nurturing:
Warm some rich face cream by using the back of your hand as a palette, or warm it in a small ceramic bowl over hot water. Apply the cream with your middle fingers, starting at the forehead. Circle outwards, moving down to the temples then gently around the eye sockets and closed eyelids.

15. Lifting the cheeks:
Moisten your fingertips with more warmed face cream and smooth across the cheeks in circular strokes, working from the nose outwards. Lift and release the cheek muscles, starting near the nostrils and moving out to the temples.

16. Smoothing the lips:
Replenish your fingers with more cream, if necessary. Gently press your thumbs onto the upper lip under the nose, and your forefingers under the lower lip. Cradle the jaw with your palms and relax the thumbs outwards and upwards towards the temples. Circle the hollows of the temples with your index fingers. Gently press, pause and release. Repeat the whole process three times.

17. Smoothing the chin:
Gently pinch the fleshy part of the chin between your thumbs and forefingers. Smooth and ease along the jaw to the temples, finishing with circles. Press, pause and release, repeat three times.

18. Smoothing the neck:
Massage cream into the throat and neck with fingertips, using light, upward and alternating your hands. As a finishing touch, moisten an index finger and run it up from the tip of the nose to the third eye. Circle and press gently, pause and release.

I hope this helps you all in some way and I hope you all have a wonderful day.

With love,

Alisha Valerie. x

My Birthday Wishlist | 2015

Hey beautiful's,

I posted one of these on my old blog last year and everyone seemed to enjoy reading it,  so I thought I would do one again for this year.
This is not in any way, shape, or form me asking for anyone to buy or send me presents or things for my birthday, these are just things I would buy myself for my birthday if I could.
These items are all from my amazon wishlist so I have linked them to amazon so you can check them out and possibly add them to your wish lists if you have an amazon account.
These are in no order whatsoever!

Trixes Travel Pouch Inset Bag Organiser
I know this is something that I could probably just buy myself but I haven't got around to doing so and also I know a few people who do get my presents for my birthday so usually in July I never buy anything for myself at all so price range can vary for people who don't have that much money to spend. I am one of them people who carries around a lot of things in their bag and has smaller bags inside a big bag etc; otherwise my bag just ends up a massive mess and it stresses me out whenever I have to try and find something in a hurry. This is why I want this so much, it seems so organised and perfect and it folds down really well so I would be able to store it easily to use in the future in other bags. | Price: £2.99 (+ £1.99 P&P) |

My Neighbour Totoro Cat Key Chain
I have been a massive fan of My Neighbour Totoro since seeing the movie nearly two years ago, and I feel like this will go just perfect with the bag I really want (that's coming up, keep reading!). It's so cute, original and seems great value for money! | Price: £3.20 |

'All I Know Now' by Carrie Hope Fletcher
I have been after this book since it came out on 23rd April 2015 and just haven't got around to buying it yet. I do really want to own the hardback cover of this book as with my suffering from RA it does hurt me to hold a book that isn't a hardback cover. My parents keep offering to buy me a kindle but I really don't like them. Books give a feel and a smell that is so calming and stress-free to me, I love books. | Usual price: £12.99 / Amazon price: £7 |

Chanel Coco Eau de Parfum Spray for Her
My favourite perfume ever! This is one of the more expensive presents I would love to re-own. It smells so classic and it may sound really silly reading this, but I always imagine this is what Marilyn Monroe would smell like. So feminine and beautiful, and I could go on about this purfume all night but I don't want to bore you all. | Price: £58.90 (for a 35ml bottle) |

William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet Full Play Art Poster
I adore this, and I fell in love with it completely the first time I seen it. I seen it on a room tour video on YouTube (I think it may have been FleurDeForce) and I have wanted it own it ever since. I am a massive fan of William Shakespeare and always have been since as long ago as I can remember, I love how his plays and/or books make you really get wrapped up in the story as if you are actually there - not many plays and/or books do that any more. This is the entire play on this contemporary piece of wall art with a paragraph for each speech, it's on heavy weight satin finish paper which is completely beautiful. | Price: £25.59 |

My Neighbour Totoro Plush Bag
This was the bag I was talking about above. I love this, it's so cute and it seems small for me. I need a little bag that I can put on my knee when I'm using my wheelchair instead of a big bag on the back of the wheelchair that I have to ask Phil to pass me every time I want something out of it. This just seems so cute and perfect sized, and will be super cute on my lap. | Price: £5.99 |

Zanzea Skull Print Long Sleeve Top Sheer Chiffon Blouse
I have wanted this top every since I seen it, I think it's just beautiful. The only thing that puts me off it is that I will need a size 16 as my boobs are so massive, and no girl likes to buy herself a size 16 piece of clothing when she's really a size 14 without feeling miserable about it. | Price: £5.66 |

iBoutique ColourJets USB Dancing Fountain Speakers
I love these, and have been wanting some for ages now. At the moment I'm using Phil's old speakers from his very old computer (which he got rid of about five or six years ago) as the speakers on my laptop aren't that great and I love blasting music when I'm writing my blogs or generally working - I hate it being silent. I would love these speaks in either silver or white as they will go with my makeup/office room décor then. | Price: £17.49 |

Candy Floss Jewel Candle Scented Candle
I really, really, really, really, really want one of these candles. As a lot of you know already I am obsessed with candles (I have about 200 in our home) and I don't have a Jewel Candle at all in my collection. I would love the 'candy floss' sent as it's one of my favourites and the fact that you get a surprise Jewel item worth up to £250 is just amazing for the price of the candle. | Price: £24.95 ( + £5.90 P&P) |

Songmics® JBC83W Jewellery Mirrored Cupboard/Wall Mirror
This beautiful Songmics JBC83W jewellery mirrored cupboard for wall mounting, white coloured with magnetic door closure, is something that I would just adore in my makeup/office room. I do have a jewellery stand already but I don't have a mirror that big for OOTD's etc so would really love a new one. The shabby chic design is gorgeous. It is a lot pricey to buy for me right now but I would adore to receive this as a gift. | Normal Price: £79 / Amazon Price: £52.96 |

I really, really, really want this birthday cake for my birthday this year. My parents always buys our birthday cakes when growing up and this year

I didn't include any makeup or beauty items on this list as I have so many products (nearly 300!) that I want to re-buy, re-try or try for the first time. If you would like to see my make up and beauty wish list on amazon, you can do so by clicking here

If you really insist on buying me a present for my birthday this year please do not give me money as I will probably spend it on stuff I don't actually need, but please do buy me something from either this birthday wish list or my make up wish list on amazon as I know I will actually use these things. It's not fun when you receive a present and then end up putting it in a draw or cupboard for months because you know that you won't use it but can't bring yourself to throw it away because someone bought it for you.

Again I want to state: this is not in any way, shape, or form me asking for anyone to buy or send me presents or things for my birthday, these are just things I would buy myself for my birthday if I could.

With love,

Monthly Favourites | June

Hey beautiful's,

I hope you're all having a wonderful first weekend of July. It's taken me a little over a week to get around to writing this blog post so I'm sorry about that but here it is and I hope you all enjoy it.

One of the reasons that it's taken me over a week to write this blog post is because literally I had three items to talk about and that wouldn't really have been a monthly favourites, until the last week in June when literally I loved so much stuff that I then found it hard to narrow them all down to nine items, but here they are:

Free Batiste Shampoo!

Pink Parcel | Review

Hey wonderful ladies,

I have had this blog post on my old blog since May and I wanted to move it over onto this blog as my old blog posts may be getting shut off. So some of you may have already read this.

Let me just say now firstly, I am in love with this company and I think it’s an amazing idea for all women out there. Plus, for them girls who are a little embarrassed about their periods, it comes in a clear grey parcel package from the postman so no-one will even know what you are getting!
There are two boxes to choose from; either young teen parcel or pink parcel for them women, like me, who are a little older.

My Summer Goals | 2015

My Bucket List

Hey beautiful's,

I thought tonight I would share my bucket list with you. I know a lot of you have probably seen it already as it was on my old blog but just encase you missed it, here it is.

My bucket list used to be a lot bigger but then I realised that due to life and health issues some of the things I will never be able to do and it is just wishful thinking. So this is my new bucket list and hopefully one day I will be able to do these things, I have taken away some and added a few to the list.
