Addressing The Drama

It saddens me to say that after four months of being away from blogging, I came back online and the blogging community has gone to shit. What happened to all the love and support we all had for each other? Because right now all I have seen is hatefulness, bullying and drama. I hate it.

*WARNING: I swear a lot of this blog post*

Stop starting drama and then say you hate drama, and stop blaming everyone else when you bloody sodding start it yourself. Drama does not just walk into your life - either you create it, invite it in, or associate with it. I don't think a lot of people understand that when you call someone a nasty name online, or share their picture saying that they're ugly, or share their blog saying that they aren't a good blogger, or you say something horrible about someone (directly to them or making fun of them with friends), it's fucking bullying. It hurts people, it gets to people, it makes people feel like shit and there is no fucking need for it.

If you see someone trying to start drama or bullying then unfollow them and block them. You don't need to join in or defend yourself, you just need to get the hatefulness out of your life. Be positive, stay happy and don't let the negativity or drama of the world get you down. Remember ships don't sink because of the water around them, ships sink because of the water that gets in them. Don't let what's happening around you get inside you and weigh you down.

The best type of blogger in my opinion with a blogger with a purpose, with goals, and with visions, who have no time for drama because they invest all of their energy in creativity, love and focus on living a positive life. I honestly love being surrounded by positive people in the blogging community - You're not judged, there's no pointless drama and everyone just wants to relax, support each other and have a good time. There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama and the people who create it and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good.

I don't care if a blogger has 10 followers or 20K+, there is no excuse not to be friendly, supportive and nice to other bloggers in the community. Share the love in the community like you would share a big box of chocolates at Christmas time with your closest family and friends.

With love, Alisha Valerie. x

  1. Good on you for coming out and speaking so strongly on this subject, Alisha! This is a really powerful post! I couldn't agree more about enjoying being surrounded by positive and uplifting people in the blogging community, that's what it's all about! Sadly I too notice a few folks who seem to revel in drama, you get it in all areas of life, in school or in work, and blogging is really no exception! Muting them is my go-to tactic, it keeps my feed filled with all of the wonderful people that I do want to interact with!

    1. Thank you so much for your lovely comment beautiful. I don't want muted people on my feed personally, I'd rather just unfollow them, I know it sounds harsh but I just don't find muting them helpful as they're still on my list. I do understand where you're coming from though babe. 💗💜💫

  2. I really love that metaphor about the ship! I don't know what type of drama is going around but I try to ignore drama all around. Drama is started by people who are bored and want attention so I don't give those people my attention! haha ♥

  3. We too hate the drama and couldn’t agree more with simply deleting and blocking, just avoid the situation. We’re lucky to not have been involved or see much drama on our timeline! Thank you for expressing yourself on this topic!

  4. This is very true. Drama doesn't come to you unless you start it. Some bloggers get it into their heads that they're somehow better than others and like to publically shame etc. Someone tried starting it with me over a simple disagreement on twitter, which I meant as a talking point. I just block or mute those that start it now. There's still so many lovely supportive bloggers out there who help each other out.

    1. I'm sorry to hear that you were involved in some drama lovely, it's hard sometimes when you get dragged into things on social media for just putting your opinions or points across on certain topics. I really hope you're doing all good now. Thank you so much for your comment 💗💜💫

  5. This is such a powerful post! I don’t think that starting drama makes you any less of a blogger, but it is unprofessional. I get sucked into it myself sometimes, but I’ve been trying my hardest to rid my feed of it all.

    1. Drama is sadly just in life in general, and always will be, but the way you handle the situation is the most important thing lovely. Thank you for your comment 💗💜💫

  6. I totally agree with this! It often amazes me how quickly blogger drama turns into a witch hunt on social media. I just ignore it when it happens, and I feel so much better for it! Super refreshing post hun
