I was asked by NRS Health Care* to take part in campaign they're doing to #BeSelfless. Being a lover of positivty and spreading love, of course I wanted to be involved.
Being Selfless is NOT being selfish.
Being selfless is the opposite of being selfish. If you're selfless, you think less about your self, and more about others - you're generous and kind. Being selfless is similar to being altruistic - another word for giving to others without looking for personal gain.
The aim of #BeSelfless is to get people talking more about making a change to do something for someone else rather than for themselves, with more a focus on the elderly and those who may need help. NRS Health Care ran the campaign via social media in January 2016 and have now put all the images together into an info-graphic with some additional info - you can read a little more about it here.
Since co-organising the #LPPevent, my mum and myself have been collecting items to give to The Whitechapel Centre in Liverpool. If you don't know already The Whitechapel Centre is a homeless shelter in Liverpool, and as well as towels and tampons (which were collected at #LPPevent) my mum and myself have also been collecting toiletries, clothes, shoes, and tinned food goods for the centre too. If you'd like to get involved or find out ways you can help then please visit their website.
Other ways to #BeSelfless are here:
I really hope that everyone who reads this will all take part and do something nice to someone today as a little thing can really go a long way!
With love, Alisha Valerie. x
