My New Year Goals | 2019

Every January I like setting new goals to myself and try to accomplish them during the new year ahead, so this year is no different. I wanted to share this year's goals encase anyone can relate or has similar ones.

| Settle into Our Home More | As many of you know already Phil and I moved into our forever home last year and it still needs a lot of work doing to it. When we came to view our home it literally had nothing - no kitchen, no downstairs bathroom fitted, etc so although we have put a lot of work, time and money into so many rooms already we still need to sort out our hallways and massive downstairs cupboard which we will be turning into an office at some point. I'm not saying that by the end of this year that we want our new home perfect, but we would love some improvement and be settled in more.

| Sort Out Our Gardens | Our gardens at our new home are horrible and they really need sorting out. I really, really hope by the end of this year that our gardens are beautiful and full of flowers. We seem to get a lot of wildlife in our gardens too which I really adore.

| Travel and Explore | I'd love to be able to have a holiday with my husband this year, even if it's a very small one like a weekend away, but due to my health I never know if I'm going to be able to do so but at least I can hope and dream.

| Donate To Charities | I do donate to charities a lot but I really want to do more of this, especially to more animal shelters around the North West. I've set myself a goal of donating dog and cat food, toys and blankets every other month to our local places.

| Become More Body Positive | I'll be talking about this topic more on a blog post coming up in a few weeks but as a brief - I want to be able to put on sexy underwear and feel comfortable and confident with myself and my body rather than turning into an awkward mess. I know my husband adores me and loves my body but this is a total personal goal for me as after being pregnant my body has changed a lot.

| Do More Crafting | I never thought I would say it but I actually miss crafting and making things. One of my goals for this year is going to do more crafts, artwork, knitting, and who knows - maybe something new altogether.

| Read More Books | My husband bought me an Amazon Fire as a Christmas present so I cannot wait to be able to download lots of new books that have been on my wishlist for ages and starting reading and falling in love with them.

| Save Some Money | This is something that I try and do every year, then when I actually have enough money to do something great with it something ends up breaking in our home. Last year we moved home and then our washing machine broke and we had to buy a new one, then our fridge and freezer were the same, then it was Christmas so I'm hoping this year we will be able to save money and actually spend it on something wonderful.

Do you have any goals this year? Can you relate to any of the goals that I have set? I'd love to know what they are, leave me a comment below and let me know.

With love, Alisha Valerie. x

  7. If your health makes it hard for a weekend away, why not look closer to home? It's something we've had to consider as I've had my own health struggles in the past. For example, is there a cute little hotel or bed and breakfast nearby that you can both enjoy a night 'away' without going far?

  8. Your goals all sound great, I love that you're so giving and make such a generous effort for charity! I want to read more too, and I'd actually love to get into crafting as I feel like I need a more creative outlet. Best of luck with improving your home and garden, I'm sure it'll be beautiful and blooming soon! Hopefully you manage to get away for a bit, even just a short staycation somewhere. And good luck with the body positivity journey - it's not easy but I'm sure you can do it!

  16. These are really great goals to have for the new year, lovebthe idea of donating to charities, I do do that already but not as much as I would like to. That’s great about the house I’ve been at my flat for 2 years now and I’m still adding bits to make it more homey xx

  21. As someone who moved into a new house last May just 3 weeks before my bf got deployed for 6 months, and as a book lover and travel junkie, your goals are super relatable. I would love to settle into the house better, read more books, get more comfortable with my body image the way it is instead of how I wish it was, travel and see some new places, and save some money.
Much love and positivity going your way to accomplish whatever you set your mind on this year!

  25. Great goals. I donate to Born Free every month. I also donated x amount of my business profits annually to a local farm rescue by buying things from their Amazon wishlist.
I'd have a look and see if your shelters have a wishlist, that way you are sure you're getting what they need.

  27. Love your goals for 2019. I can't wait to see your house renos, we need to sort our garden out too so I would love to see if you have any tips! We are trying to save too, one tip I was given was saying you get a payment of £9.67, then move across the odd amount so 67p - the pennies look after the pounds!! Hope that helps xx
