Make Believe Mums Mean Business | Guest Post

Make Believe are on the hunt across the UK to find more mums who want to earn an income with their own flexible hours and can still look after their children!

Make Believe has created a franchise model that enables mumpreneurs to run a business, earn a significant income whilst still being able to do the most important job in the world of being a mum without having to pay extortionate childcare fees. Through their growing network of theatre schools both in the UK and oversee's, their aim is to create a happy, family, learning atmosphere where young people can be inspired and realise that anything is possible. What better person to help young people realise their dream than a mum!

Every week for 6 weeks Make Believe will be releasing an episode on their website & facebook page following 3 mums that are already franchisees. The mums are Carerra Dixon-Baker owner of Make Believe Crystal Palace and Stratford, Vanessa Marks Bergman owner of Make Believe Enfield and Southgate and Kimberley Thursfield owner of Make Believe Sevenoaks and Bromley.

Carrera said: “I like Make Believe’s ethos, just that any child from any background, however talented you are, you can be a part of these classes and get a huge amount back from them!
Kimberley Said: “Why would I pay for someone else to look after my kids when I should be doing it myself? To be able to work and look after my children watching them grow is an amazing feeling. Make Believe is empowering women to run their own business and also a way to reduce unemployment rates!

Founded by Joel Kern in 2004 Make Believe have 50 schools in and around London, Australia and most recently Manchester, teaching youngsters the basic skills in the performing arts. Kern, who started Make Believe aged 15 by teaching five students to sing, dance and act, has seen the company grow into one of the most exciting performing arts companies with around 3500 children enjoying the after-school classes on a weekly basis. And with a raft of talent coming out of the Make Believe Talent Agency (including youngsters landing roles in West end Musicals, TV shows and adverts) the future is looking very bright for the Ilford-based producer who won the Federation of Small Business Young Entrepreneur of the year for South East England award. The Make Believe head office is now based at The Stratford Circus Theatre, home to the 2012 Olympics.

Joel said: “Mums have to make tough choices every day when balancing their family & work lives; I saw this first hand by my mum who like some didn’t have a husband to depend on. We are here to help stop talents going to waste and will be there to support and inspire mums when making these decisions.
