Self Love For Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!! I know that for a lot of people, Valentines Day can be so depressing and lonely, so I wanted to share a blog post today all about self-care, self-love and how you can fall in love with yourself this year, and what better way to do that than sharing with you some of my top tips on self-care for Valentines Day?

| MEDITATE | You must know by now how much I adore and rave about meditation. My favourite has to be Michael Seeley's Meditation videos on YouTube, he has so many different mediation videos from talk downs to deep periods of sleep, I'm more than sure you'll find something that you love. I've mentioned this before on my blog but I also recommend you checking out this beautiful Tree of Life Pendant* from No Faux Vegan, it has resin beads which represents the seven chakra's which is so important for your own well-being. I adore this pendant and wear it soo much!

| READ | If you like reading and are looking for some book therapy I highly recommend checking out Book Therapy Shorts which are brilliant fifteen minute short reads via digital download on a range of non-fiction content (personal development, management and leadership, history, psychology, biography) for time-conscious, brevity-favouring readers. They are designed to make your life easier, these shorts will leave you empowered, enlightened and energised. These are perfect for any book lover!

| MUSIC | Listening to your favourite music when you're feeling a little bit low can really change your mood. Why not make yourself a playlist of your favourite songs or songs that mean a lot to you then it's there already for you to listen to when you really need it. Music is one of the best things to change your mood and how you're feeling.

| FAVOURITE MOVIE/TV SHOW | Settling down to watch some TV when you're feeling low is one of the best ways to make yourself feel better. Why not settle down with some hot chocolate or your favourite snacks and take an afternoon or evening out to make yourself feel a little better. I personally love watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer or some Disney movies when I feel low as it brings back memories of happy times and makes me feel loads better.

| HAVE A DRINK | Okay let's be honest, it's Valentines Day and you're single and fed up of all the depressing love-up stuff about? Then have a drink! Sometimes it's exactly what you may need, I know personally I love settling down in the evening with an ice cold drink after a hard day, and if you're after trying a yummy already-mixed gin then why not give Silver Swift Drinks* a try? I was kind enough to receive a couple of bottles of this beautiful product recently and couldn't recommend them enough! With their fruity taste and beautiful design, they're a perfect pick me up after a long hard day. I have a blog post coming up next month all about these beauties that I cannot wait to share with you all but in the meantime don't forget to check out their website and pick yourself one or two of their drinks up to try for yourself - they also make the perfect present for that special someone if you are in a relationship and are stuck for a gift. (Please remember to drink responsibly and never ever drink and drive - it's better to be safe than sorry!)

| MAKE PLANS | #I know personally that whenever I feel like I need a bit of self-care time I really adore making lists and plans so if you're like me and you also like doing so then have you checked out "The Best Way to Predict The Future Is To Create It"* by TadFan*? I've mentioned this goal planner before and I really cannot recommend it enough. Making plans when you're feeling low can really boost your mood to make yourself feel better and more positive.

| BE COMFORTABLE | Being comfortable when you're relaxing is so important and I love to chill at home in my Femme Luxe* tracksuits, I have a blog post review coming soon about this wonderful brand so keep your eyes peeled for that, but until then why not check out their website and see if you can see anything you fancy.

| CONTROL YOUR PAIN | If you're a fellow spoonie and you suffer from some bone problems like me then you'll know how hard it is to find a good product that can take your pain away, or at least put the pain at bay for a little while to give you a small break. Thankfully though I was recently lucky enough to receive Dr. Numb's Topical Lidocaine Cream* to try out and I have to say after a couple of uses I can really see the difference - it's none greasy, none sticky and works great for bone pain. I don't want to be trying to relax whilst I'm also in pain so this has been the first product I reach for when having a pamper night recently and if you haven't check this product out already please do so as it's a wonderful investment for spoonies.

| WRITE A BLOG POST | Everyone has low days and needs some self-care time, so writing your thoughts and feelings down in a blog post and sharing it with your readers can really help you relate and connect to them. Be brave and share how you're feeling!

Whatever way you're spending your Valentines Day today I hope you all have the most wonderful day and remember that you control your happiness and wellbeing so smile and feel beautiful for yourself today, no-one else!

With love, Alisha Valerie. x
