Happy February! I fully expected January to drag on and feel like it was never ending but I have to say that February has come around so quickly! Even though the weather is freezing cold still I'm really looking forward to this month starting as it means that Spring and the start of the warm weather aren't too far away, which I have loads of plans for. Another positive thing I am happy about is that my blog content for this month is very much done and I am so happy with it all that I cannot wait to share it with you - lots of Valentines Day posts and self-love posts are coming up. However, let's share about January...
I started January off being content and ready for a new year and a fresh start. However, it wasn't all positive and good as I still had shingles on my foot and I was on bed rest but being on bed rest gave me a lot of free time to think and plan content for my blog for this year so it made me so happy!
By the middle of the month, the horrible shingles had pretty much gone and I was just felt with a little skin damage but I was able to wear socks and shoes again so I was beyond happy, plus it meant I wasn't on bed rest anymore so could actually leave my bedroom and see other people properly for the first time in weeks. I spent most of the middle of the month organising our home and sorting my blog content for the next couple of weeks as well as making loads of yummy vegan meals - which you can check out on my instagram stories.
Towards the end of February for the first time in ages, my mum had a whole week off work so it meant I was able to spend a tiny little bit of time with her whilst she was on a break from work. Although we live pretty close to my parents home I hardly ever get to see them as they both work full time and if you're like my mum who works in a hospital or you have a family member that does so, you'll understand seeing your family can be hard work sometimes as after work you just want to crash and catch up on sleep. My husband Phil and I also got to have a little overnight stay away which was so wonderful as I think we both needed the break, there will be a blog post all about our trip at the end of the month showing you where we went and what we got up to whilst away.
What did you get up to in January? Do you have anything special planned in February? Do you have plans for Valentines Day? I'd love to know so please leave me a comment below.
With love, Alisha Valerie. x

DeleteSorry to hear about your shingles. It's great that you and your husband got to have an overnight stay. It's always nice to have time to relax and unwind. I spent a lot of January studying for exams. After that I spent time catching up with friends. Hope you have a LOVELY February.

DeleteSpending time with your family is amazing and very important as well! I'm going to work on my dissertation a lot in the next month or so, but I'm sure I will do fun stuff as well!

DeleteJanuary did seem pretty lengthy but I would prefer that over a month that's gone in a blink of an eye. I'm looking forward to your posts about Valentine's Day and self-love! ♥
