What I've Been Burning Lately | February 2019

I haven't shared a "what I've been burning lately" blog post in over a year now I think but this candle from Darcey's Candles, which I received as one of my Christmas presents from my parents, has quickly become one of my all-time favourites now so I want to tell you all why I've recently fallen completely head over heels in love with it.

| About Darcey's Candles | Darceys began in 2011 when CEO Jackie Dalziel decided to try her hand at making her own soy wax melts after being disappointed by what was on offer on the High Street. Her kitchen hobby soon became a small business when friends and family wanted to purchase some for their own use. Very soon after that, Jackie realised the potential for this little heart shaped pieces of wax and joined a business accelerator programme called Entrepreneurial Spark where she received mentorship and guidance to enable her to grow and scale the business. Then, in 2012 Jackie met Clare Cameron, a former Sales Leader for Avon. Jackie had a vision for a Direct Selling Model for the business and required someone with the experience to take the business down that route. Working together Jackie and Clare now front a high growth team of independent representatives spread throughout the UK and are now moving the business to a Multi-Level Marketing Model which will allow representatives to recruit, train and support a team of their own and earn a commission based on team sales. They began in 2017 with two hundred representatives, hit their goal of two thousand reps in 2018 and hope to increase this to three thousand by the end of this year.

| Coconut & Lemongrass Small Candle | This candle is a mix of zesty lemongrass and fruity pineapple with middle notes of lily of the valley and peach to temper the citrus, the blend ends beautifully in a smooth finish of coconut and sandalwood - amazing right?! Darcey's candles are made using the highest grade one hundred per cent soy wax to ensure a clean eco-friendly burn and due to the low burning temperature of soy wax their products provide a scent throw that is the envy of the industry and have a longer burning time. When used correctly, Darcey's candles will emit no soot and will leave your jar, walls and windows clean. Please make sure that when using candles you must ensure that the wick is kept short, around 5 mm for the best performance. Darcey's small candles are 130ml in volume and burn for up to forty hours!

I've been using this candle in my home pretty much every day now for the past month or so and I absolutely adore it, it's quickly become one of my favourite candles to use. The scent is so fresh, beautiful and clean smelling - everyone who comes into my home has noticed it right away and if you're a candle lover like myself then I highly recommend you checking this brand out!

What do you think of the sound of this candle? Have you ever tried any of the Darcey Candles? Do you have a favourite candle for Springtime? Let me know by leaving me a comment below,

With love, Alisha Valerie. x
