I have to admit that the beginning of February as so hard for me in many ways due to my personal life, I'm not scared to say that my life was in the shitter a little for a while and I never thought I'd face some of the problems that I did. The one things I did learn this February was the important people in life will always be there when you need them and will respect your views and decisions even if they don't agree with them.
I had many nights in February where I cried whilst talking to one of my best friends and trying to figure things out because for a while I had no clue what direction certain things in my life where going to go, even though she is currently living in America it didn't stop her from being there for me in all the ways I needed her. I know I don't mention her a lot on my blog, as she is a really private person and doesn't believe in having social media (she's a bit of an old-fashioned hippy), but Loz, I know you do take the time to read my blog posts so I wanted to say thank you for all of the support you always give me and thank you for being there for me this February. I have no idea how I would have got through it without you and I love you so much for it. You're more than a best friend to me, you are more like a sister. Friends are the family we choose for ourselves.
Even though a lot of my family don't read my blog I want to say that my close family circle have been incredible this month and I'm so thankful for my family; my husband, my brother, my parents, my grandparents, my uncles Steven and John, my Auntie Sharon and my other best friend Colin. All of these people have been there for myself and Phil last month that I couldn't not include them and thank them on this blog post.
Thankfully, two weeks into February things started looking up and everything seemed to go better than back to normal as everything changed for the better. We even had a chance to have our home decorated, we had our bedroom wallpapered, hall wallpapered, kitchen painted, we had new flooring fitted in our kitchen and we have finally made plans to have our bathroom painted and sorted out.
Sadly though, three weeks into the month I had a pretty bad fall at home, everyone told me that I must have just badly bruised it because if it was anything too serious I wouldn't be able to walk but after a week of being in such bad constant pain I made an appointment with my doctor and went along the hospital. Turns out that the constant pain I was in was because I have fractured a bone in my spine! Please make sure that if you ever hurt yourself, listen to your body and not the people around you - you are the one who knows what is best for you! I was given a steroid injection for the pain, but due to my health, they can't do anything else to help me so I just have to get lots of rest and try not to do too much. Fingers crossed that it will start hearing soon, please send me positive thoughts?
|| GOALS FOR THIS MONTH ||
BAKE. Although I cook a lot, I haven't managed to bake anything in way over a year. I'm really excited to start baking again and exploring new recipes this Springtime. I'll make sure to share all of my bakes on my social media for you all to see.
READ. I haven't read a good book in ages and since I was sent a brilliant book to review (you'll be able to read more about this soon) and I also luckily won Jenny in Neverland's competition with the prize being Six Foot Six by Kit De Waal, I am really looking forward to making time and falling in love with reading again.
SAVE. I really, really need to save some up money. Phil and I are saving at the moment for our honeymoon, but I would like to save some money and buy some girly things, mainly all of the makeup and beauty products on my wishlist.
How was your month, did you do anything exciting? What are your goals and plans for March? Leave me a comment below or tweet me as I'd love to know. I hope everyone has a really amazing month ahead and I'm sending everyone so many positive vibes!
With love, Alisha Valerie. x

ReplyDeleteDuring January I read one book after another, but this February I haven't even finished reading one (although I had uni work and papers and deadlines etc. but no more excuses!), so I really want to finish a book in March. There are currently four books that I've still got to finish, so chop chop! ;)

I really have done, it's been a nightmare but hopfully I'm away from it all now and things will get better.
DeleteHaha I'm gonna start reading again so I want to fall in love with doing so, I miss it. Thanks for your comment Dominique! ๐ธ✨
You trooper! Even though you haven’t shared much about what happened you don’t need to. Sounds like feb has been a rough month and you have come through being positive and focusing on what you have learnt and what you want out of March! I 100% live by “listen to your body” my mum has said it since the day I could understand and it’s only when I really badly hurt my knee and couldn’t walk for three weeks that I truly listened to my body and have ever since.
ReplyDeleteMuch love and best wishes and positive vibes for March

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this with us. I can only imagine how hard it can be to lay your feelings out online for the world to see. I also had a bad month but March seems a bit better and posts like these help me get more inspired so thank you. In March I want to develop myself more. I just feel like I have more to offer the world I just don't know how. I think being 30 in two weeks is putting the fear into me as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lil shout out! I hope your March is better than February and you achieve all your goals. If you need any book recommendations, you know where to come!
