Hello July | 2020

AD | Hello my lovelies, happy Wednesday, I really hope that you're all having a wonderful start to your week and a fresh happy start to your month! Even though I'm still shielding for my health and I'm stuck at home in lockdown still, I had a really busy bittersweet yet wonderful June.

June was a really busy month, and my bank account was not happy. Not only did we celebrate my brother's twenty-first birthday, but we also celebrated my Nan's eighth birthday, my husband's thirty-fifth birthday, Fathers Day, brother-in-laws fourth birthday too.

I started the month pretty much mourning for the black community and educating myself more on how I can help and the understanding around term White Privilege as well as educating myself. What happened to George Floyd has broken my heart and it hurts to know that so many people in fear for their lives on a daily basis. We all must do more to help in any way that we can.

During the middle of June, I went shopping for the first time in months, it was so wonderful to be outside for the day but I will admit (and I know total unpopular opinion) I'm not a fan of the queuing at all. I don't think that people need to be queuing, we should just be respectfully distancing instead of being told to queue like we are schoolchildren. If we have to queue this ba then maybe the stores shouldn't even be opened at all yet?

I ended the month feeling really motivated and positive for the summertime ahead, also really excited as we are going away for the first time in months towards the end of the month.

How was your June? What did you get up to? What are your goals for July and the summer ahead? I'd love to know your thoughts so please leave me a little comment of love below and let me know your views? I'm sending you all so much love for a wonderful day x

With love, Alisha Valerie. x

  1. It's hard to believe that July is already here, isn't it? This year has been like a while roller coaster ride, we have no idea what's coming around each corner. I am, however, really looking forward to the fact that it HAS TO look up from here. Right?

  6. My birthday is in July but most of my family and friends are between November and February so waiting for my birthday seems to take FOREVER! This year I can't quite believe it is already here! Plus the summer holidays will soon arrive for me and it feels so odd.

June was a full on month for you, I hope July is kinder to your bank balance! Enjoy x

  7. I actually really can't believe that July is here! And I agree with the stores. Either just let people go in like normal or maybe realize it's too soon and stay closed.

  8. June was pretty depressing (most of this year has been) but I did manage to escape to a beach house for a few days. I didn't actually go to the beach but it was a nice break to leave the house which feels like a prison at this point. haha

I'm crossing my fingers that July will be better because it's my birthday month! ♥
