#ITTAKESGUTS #WALKIT 2019 | Crohns and Colitis UK

This summer, there are going to be more 5K and 10K walks across some of our best UK cities to raise awareness for Crohn's and Colitis UK, and break the silence around these invisible illnesses. I would love it if some of the people who read my blog could go along to a walk near you and show your support - either by walking, volunteering or simply cheering others on.

What is Ulcerative Colitis? Ulcerative colitis is a long-term condition where the colon and rectum become inflamed. The colon is the large intestine (bowel), and the rectum is the end of the bowel where stools are stored. Small ulcers can develop on the colon's lining and can bleed.

What is Crohns Disease? Crohn's disease is a lifelong condition in which parts of the digestive system become inflamed. It's one type of condition called inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

By taking part in #WALKIT, you will be helping to raise vital funds to find a cure and joining a community of thousands of people across the country walking across some of the biggest cities in the UK.

With love, Alisha Valerie. x
