Sunshine Blogger Award 2019 | TAG

Hello my lovelies! Back at the beginning of May this year I was nominated by the lovely Alexa Jade in her Sunshine Blog Awards blog post, so I thought I would share my answers to her questions today and, of course, tag some of my favourite bloggers too.

Questions For Me Asked By Alexa Jade

What made you start your blog and what do you enjoy most about blogging? I first got into blogging when I was just thirteen years old on a website called GirLand.com, as I was bed bound due to a really intense and bad ulcerative colitis flare-up. I wanted someone that I could escape to and I found my place in blogging. From then on I have blogged on a number of different websites including GirLand, Bebo, MySpace, FreeWebs, Webs, Tumblr, Wordpress and Blogger.

Where is your workspace? It can be anywhere and everywhere. However, I blog from my home as I wouldn't like to go into an office or coffee shop to do so but I can understand why some people would want to get out of the house and choose to do so.

What’s your main goal to achieve in the next 5 years of your life? I really want to keep my health under check and stay as healthy and motivated as possible. I'd also love to travel some more with my husband.

What is your favourite place to visit? I love going to my Nan's grave to talk with her because I really miss not being able to pick up the phone and calling her to do so. I love going to places like Taylors Park in St Helens and Southport with my husband on days out as they relax me. But if I'm being really honest, I'm a big home bird and I adore just staying home and being outside in my yard listening to the wildlife and watching our little Daisy playing in the grass.

If you could start a course in anything right now, what would it be? I'd love to do some language courses. I obviously can speak English and I'm pretty good with French and I know a bit of Latin and Welsh, but I'd also love to be able to speak more German, Italian, Spanish and most of all Ancient Egyptian.

What’s your favourite Disney character and why? I have two. I have always adored Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Pocahontas. Both of these Disney Princess taught me a lot when growing up about how to speak, act, love and respect other people.

What’s your favourite social media platform? I have always been a massive fan of Twitter, and I'm starting to enjoy Instagram but my favourite two social media platforms will always be MySpace and MSN, oh how I miss them!

When you were a child, what would your dream job be? It may sound silly to some people but I really wanted to be a mermaid like Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I thought that I would be able to swim with all of the ocean animals and live on a boat. However, when I grew up a little bit then I wanted to become a fashion stylist (I even got to work with Vogue House in London when I was working for Tatler Magazine), then during college I realised that I wanted to become a makeup artist in the theatre after university my health took a major downfall and I decided to become a full-time blogger and I couldn't imagine doing another thing with my life.

Who inspires you most in life? I always think back to my Nan's life and how much I looked up to her when she was alive. I think my Nan is always going to be my biggest inspiration and idol in my life.

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you do? I would buy a home in the country-side with lots of farmland. I'd then pay off the end of our loan, which thankfully will be paid off in two months. I'd also love to then buy a small motor home so my husband and I can travel and explore the world a little more but in our own time with our own space.

If you could give your life a musical title, what would you call your musical? I really like it when musicals are simply named after the lead-role of the person, like Annie, so I'd like my musical named Alisha-Valerie.
