My Summer Wardrobe Essentials

These are my summer time wardrobe essentials for holidays, or for summer time if you live somewhere that's going to get hot in the summer. These are just my summer wardrobe essentials, it's not what you have to have in your wardrobe.

Dresses: I adore dresses in the summer time. I mostly wear skater-style dresses in the day time as they do wonders for my body shape and maxi dresses in the evenings or night time to make myself look that tiny bit taller.

Shorts and/or skirts: Summer time is the only time out of the year that I wear shorts or skirts, I know a lot of people who wear them in winter or other seasons and put tights under them but for some reason that's just something I never seem to do. I like them for when I sit in the garden tanning my very Snow White pale legs.

Vest tops: My go-to tops in summer time. If I don't know what to wear I always put on a vest top and then wear a top over or a statement necklace just to take it look that small extra big stylish... or try to anyway!

Thin cardigans: Thin cardigans are great in the summer time evenings for keeping yourself warm from the chilly breezy nights, because they're thin they fold down so you can put them in your bag really nice. Or you can tie them around your waist for a bit of an style edge.

Ballet flats: My go-to shoes every summer time. You can get so many different styles and colours of ballet flats, and they go with every single outfit in my wardrobe. I don't wear heeled shoes (for medical reasons) so I love these in the summer time.

Back pack and/or over the shoulder bags: Back packs are for more of the days outs where I can take everything and fit in all in comfortably, and over the shoulder bags are more for shopping trips and evening time in the summer when I don't need to take as much.

Sun glasses: These are a must in the summer time for protecting your eyes from the dangers the sunshine can cause. There are so many great sun glasses out there too, I would suggest buying a pair if you don't own some already.

Straw hat: I don't mean like a farmers straw hat, I know I live in the country side but just no, I mean like a Marilyn Monroe big fashion styled keep-the-sun-away-from-me straw hat. I love these and I think they look amazing with any outfit in the summer time. There are so many easy DIYs that you can do with them to make them individual to you; putting a scarf around them, gluing some big fake flowers on them, there are loads!

Jewellery: I love wearing and laying jewellery in the summer time. I like big bold statement necklaces or layering up little thin ones. I also love ear rings in the summer time as well, because I don't have my ears pierced (I can't do for medical reasons) I have to wear clip-on's, but you can actually get some really nice ones out there if you look. For bracelets I love little dainty thin bracelets in the summer time for day times and big chunky ones for the night times.

I buy most of my jewellery (and some clothes) from All That Glam which is this really great store in Prescot that does ship world wide, so I would suggest checking them out. Or I buy clothes from Amazon, or various stores when out and about.

I haven't included any bikini's or over-ups in this blog post because right now I'm really not happy with my body and I haven't been for a long time now (just over a year) so I want to loose some weight before I feel confident enough to wear bikini's again.

I hope you all enjoyed this blog post and I'm posting a new blog post every day this summer so, I will be back tomorrow with another blog post so come back then?

With love, Alisha Valerie. x
