My Productive Self-Care Saturday Routine

Hello my lovelies! Saturday's for me are all about being super productive for organising the week ahead and having some important self-care time before a busy week. So, I wanted to share with you what my Saturday routine involves in the hope of giving you some motivation or ideas to add to your weekend routine to prep your upcoming week.

| Morning Meditation | I always make sure that I do a morning meditation so that I can start my day very fresh and with a super positive mindset. I know I have said it so many times on my blog and social media accounts but I highly recommend Michael Sealey's YouTube channel for meditations, for beginners who want to start but don't know where to and for experienced people who mediation regularly - he is amazing.

| Quick Home Tidy | I am a little bit of a 'clean freak'. I love my home being clean, tidy and smelling beautiful. I was brought up to believe that everything in your home (and life) has a place and when you're not using it, it should be back in its place. If you don't have a place for an item (or person) in your life then you don't need it (or them) to be there. So, spending some time putting anything away and back in its place that it lives in.

| My Favourite Music | I adore music, I always have done, I adore making and listening to playlists so putting some money on when I'm at home of a Saturday and having a bit of a dance about and sing-song can be really relaxing, and it's a small bit of exercise which will help my body stay motivated.

| Fill-in My Journal | I adore my Boxclever Press 2019 Journal* as it keeps me so in so much order which I really love as you can probably guess I don't like not being organised and now I don't know what I would do without my journal - I have everything in it! I always start a new week and fill in what I'm doing that week, I make a food shopping list and a meal plan, I make a to-do list, basically, anything and everything to keep my life in order for the upcoming week. I would highly recommend journalling to everyone if you don't do it already.

| Prep Clothes | I always like to have an idea in my head about what I'm going to wear for the upcoming week ahead so I'm not flying about like a busy bee in the mornings trying to find something suitable to wear. I like to plan clothes, shoes and jewellery for my upcoming days.

| Self-Care Food | I always like to have some 'self-care food' on Saturday: an afternoon hot chocolate, a yummy latte or mocha, a couple of chocolate covered strawberries, a bowl full of vegan Koka noodles with some spring onions, possibly even a vegan takeaway from the local Chinese restaurant - whatever it is I feel like, I like to binge out a little bit and eat anything and everything! Although I'm no longer doing My Slimming World Journey anymore as I am at my perfect weight, I do try and keep track of what I am eating during the week so I don't eat too much junk based food and it won't affect my health.

| Flavoured Water | I adore homemade flavoured water. It's a really simple, easy and tasty way of drinking some fresh water with lots of natural vitamins in it. If you fill up a glass with some water and add some fruit or veggies, leave it in the fridge for an hour or two and then take out and drink. My favourites are strawberry and cherry water, cucumber water or celery water - plus once your water has been drunk, you can munch on the fresh fruit or veggies as a yummy snack.

| Play With Daisy | I am a BIG believer in the fact that an animal isn't just for Christmas they are for life, and I don't agree with having a pet as a "guard dog" or keeping a pet in just one room of your home, I think that animals are members of the family and we should never treat them as anything less. Their are certain members of my family and group of friends who visit our home and say "can't you lock that dog outside" when they come to visit and I very quickly correct them that they're visiting "mine and my pets home so no I won't lock a member of my family outside". Our little Daisy suffers from anxiety so we do usually take her upstairs if doesn't know you or isn't comfortable with you but people who are just rude and arrogant are put straight right away. I always make sure that I spend time with my Daisy playing every day but on a Saturday we have an extra long playing time with her toys.

| Quiet Time | Taking some time out and having some time for myself in my bedroom with a beautiful smelling candle lit whilst laying on my bed reading or listening to a book is one of the things I look forward to on a Saturday, I like to block the world out for a small while and just take some time doing something I love. I usually do this once I have spent some time playing with Daisy as she then snuggles up to me on the bed and falls asleep whilst I read or listen to my audio-book.

| Pamper Time | I never put makeup on when it's a Saturday as I like to let my skin breathe a lot, but I do always make sure that I have a little pamper routine: I have a shower, wash my hair, use a face and body scrub and shave my body. Once out of the shower I use a face mask and always re-paint my nails.

| Evening Watching TV | Friday nights are always movie nights for my husband and myself so I try not to watch a movie on a Saturday night and watch some TV instead. My best friend and myself are really big fans of celebrity reality shows, not shows like Big Brother, Towie or Gorgie Shore but shows like Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain's Got Talent, xFactor or I'm a Celeb (proper entertainment shows) so we always watch whatever the current show is on. So since I'm relaxing watching some TV, I always like to treat myself with a glass of red wine (or two) and some crisps.

What do you do to plan your week? Do you have a day set aside every week to prep for the week ahead or do you wing it and take the days as they come? I'd love to know your thoughts so please let me know your views. Sending you all so many positive vibes and well wishes!

With love, Alisha Valerie. x
