Hello January | 2020

AD | Hello my lovelies! Happy New Years Day! I cannot believe that it's already 2020, I still remember celebrating the millennium like it was yesterday so knowing now that it was twenty years ago makes me feel super old. Last year really changed me as a person and I learnt so many lessons, both good and hard that I'm excited to start a new year and see what is in store for me and my life. Here's a look back at what I got up to in the final month of 2019...

If you've been reading my website or following my social media for a while then you'll know that last Christmas was a really hard one as it was the first one since my Nan passed away and I also spend the whole of the festive months in bed suffering from shingles, so you'll know how much celebrating Christmas this year means to me. I started the month feeling so festive, putting our Christmas tree and up.

Although I did a lot of social media work this month getting prepared for Christmas and the new year, I also managed to spend some time out and about: I went along to a Christmas market in Aintree Race Course where my gorgeous auntie Sharon has a stall selling her crafts and if you watched my Instagram highlights then you'll know that whilst there I also met Santa and his elves there, I was kindly invited out by some PR companies for a few festive based meals with my husband and I spend a lot of time at home watching Christmas movies and feeling like a little girl again with the Christmas magic.

The middle of the month, of course, was the general election. And what a shit election it was. I cannot believe the lying, cheating, scum that we have living in number ten. It is heartbreaking. I honestly still feel so numb. I am gutted and feel so heartbroken and worried about the future of our amazing NHS, our brave emergency services, for our beautiful earth and how it's being effect by climate change, our future lives. I voted for Labour, I'm not ashamed to say that, I truly believe that Jeremy Corbyn would have turned our government around for the better but I really think people didn't vote for Labour because they don't like him as a person, which is totally wrong. It's like not taking a class because you don't like the teacher. Life as we know it is now one hundred times scarier. Our UK is no more.

I tried my hardest to forget about the election and stayed looking on the brighter side of things, I wrapped presents, done some Christmas cookie baking, and generally enjoyed the festive period. Also, my husband and I even went to stay in Manchester for the night with Travelodge UK* for the Lightopia Festive* in Heaton Park Manchester. It was beautiful and totally worth being out in the freezing cold for!

I ended December feeling so happy and motivated. I'm trying to look on the positive side of things and I'm very grateful for my health, my life, my relationship and everything and everyone in my life. I have so many plans for this year ahead and I cannot wait to share them all with you all and take all of my readers on yet another journey with me via my website.

How are you doing? How was your December? Did you do anything exciting for Christmas or New Year? I'd love to know your thoughts and views so please leave me a comment below? I'm sending you all so much love and positivity.

With love, Alisha Valerie. x
