Beginner’s Guide to Face Yoga | Guest Post

AD | The truth is, everyone gets older, and some of us might be a little self-conscious about the fine lines and wrinkles that start appearing. Of course, facial fillers and cosmetic surgery are always options, but these procedures can be both dangerous and expensive. Instead, there’s a new anti-ageing practice called face yoga that you can try out!

Face yoga is a healthy and free way to reduce signs of ageing. Face yoga can also help reduce the appearance of fatty areas in the face, reduce symptoms of TMJ, prevent neck pain, stop snoring, and increase your overall mental health. There’s nothing to lose by learning about face yoga and trying it out. You may discover a new practice that increases your confidence and saves you money!

| Who Else Uses Face Yoga? | A number of A-listers, including Meghan Markle, are advocates for face yoga, and it’s clear that her exercises are working well. Other celebrities who use face yoga include fresh faces like Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow.

| Face Yoga Exercises | Here are a few beginner-level face yoga poses for you to try out!

If you want to reduce fine lines and wrinkles on your forehead, the forehead smoother exercise is a great face yoga move to try. Start by making a fist with both hands and face your fingers inwards. Then, place the knuckles of your middle fingers in the centre of your forehead and slide your fists to each side of your forehead. You should repeat this move six times per session.

If you want to use face yoga to plump your lips, you can sit down and slightly tip your head back. Slightly pucker your lips and push forward. You should hold this pose for ten seconds and release. Repeating this exercise five times per session can reduce thin lips and mouth lines.

For a sagging neck and jaw, try gently tilting your head back until you feel a stretch in your neck. Puff your lower lip out until you feel the stretch get more intense. Stroke down on each side of your neck and repeat this exercise five times per session.

If you want to tone and slim your cheeks, you can do the lion pose. First, drop your jaw and open your mouth. Then, stick out your tongue and stretch it toward your chin. As you breathe through your mouth, make a sound in your throat like a lion roaring. Repeat this exercise five times per session for best results.

To reduce the appearance of a double chin, puff out your cheeks about halfway and move the air around in your mouth from cheek to cheek as if you were swirling around water. Continue this exercise for two minutes and then repeat the two-minute cycle three times per session.

Lastly, if you want more sculpted cheekbones, pretend you’re chewing a big bite of food. Then, open your mouth as wide as you can while keeping your tongue pressed down to your lower teeth and hold this pose for ten seconds. You can repeat this exercise seven times per session.

| Benefits of Face Yoga | As mentioned above, face yoga has many benefits. Not only can you see quick results from this inexpensive and risk-free treatment, but you may also find your mental health improving from this daily practice! By activating blood circulation in these specified areas of your face, you’re rejuvenating the underlying tissues that rarely get action.

You won’t know how effective this treatment can be until you try it yourself, and unlike cosmetic surgery, you have nothing to lose! Hopefully, this beginner’s guide gives you the confidence you need to conquer your next stage of life. Take a look at the visual from Rory below for illustrated face yoga pose instructions!
