Ways To Improve Your Mental Health

AD | Hello my lovelies, and a very happy Saturday to you all! I wanted to share with you all some easy ways that you can improve your mental health by simple things that you can do on a daily basis. I really hope this post helps some of you, and please know I'm sending you all of my love.

| Daily Journaling | Keeping track of your progress is so important so starting a journal is a great way to get your thoughts down on paper and out of your head is great for your mental health. If you never know where to start then check out this journal* where you can track your progress by keeping a diary and writing down a small thing every day can help you keep track and when you look back through it then you will know how far you have come and how well you are doing.

| Reduce Negativity | Negativity can come in different ways for different people but for me, getting the negativity out of my life is one of the hardest things. I care a lot about so many people in my life that are full of negativity and I am unable to totally remove them out of my life altogether so I keep them at a distance so they don't affect my own mental health, however, this is something that has taken me years to learn. My advice is just to stay true and honest to yourself and don't focus on hate or the badness of other people who may in apart of your life.

| Focus on Self Care | One of the best things for your mental health is having some self-care and taking time for yourself to make your soul happy. Self-care can come in so many forms, personally having a relaxing hot bubble bath or turning my phone off and meditating or watching one of my favourite movies is my way of having self-care time, having a homecooked meal is a really easy way of having "me time" too. However, I have friends who practise self-care by being outside in nature, spending time with their partners, even cleaning their home! Whatever makes you happy, do that.

| Read | Reading is so good for your mental health so find yourself a quiet spot with your favourite book, turn all distractions off (aka your mobile phone) and just read in peace and calmness. My personal favourite is The Secret by Rhonda Byrne - you can check out these two posts about this amazing book that I have written and shared on my website here and here.

| Let Go | I truly believe that every single person has to go through things that completely destroy them in order to figure out who they really are and what they really want. Letting go of situations or worries in your life is one of the most amazing things that you can do - you have you forget how you feel and think of what you deserve.

| Meditate | I cannot recommend meditating enough to everybody as it really does help your mental health. I've mentioned meditating on my website and social media pages so many times in the past so it only feels right mentioning it on this post too. I personally can't go forty-eight hours without meditating and highly recommend Michael Sealey's YouTube channel as he has so many guided meditations which are perfect for anyone who wants to start meditating and doesn't know where to start, or anyone who has been meditating for a while too.

| Drink Water | I am the worst when it comes to drinking plain water, even bottled water, its just so plain and horrible that I can't stand the taste of drinking what feels like nothing so instead I have a jug in our fridge filled with tap water and I always put some cut up fresh fruit in it to make a bit of flavour and for it to taste better. My personal favourites are lemon and lime water, cucumber water, celery water and/or orange and strawberry water.

With love, Alisha Valerie. x
