Helpful Things To Do During A Flare-Up | Crohns and Colitis UK

AD | Hello my lovelies! Being in a crohns disease or ulcerative colitis flare-up can really be like you're living in hell with the devil constantly punching you in the tummy with no way of knowing how or when it's going to stop. However, I want to try some tips that really have helped me during flare-ups.

| Sleep | I cannot express how much getting sleep will help you when you are having a flare-up. Never ever take a sleeping tablet without talking to your doctor or nurse first.

| Find Your Zen | Finding your zen is something that will really help you when it comes to being in a flare-up, all you need to find your zen is silence, calmness and meditation.

| Find Answers, Not Drugs | If you're on a new medication then get out the leaflet from it and highlight your symptoms before you decide to go on more and more new treatments and drugs. You could just be having a side effect from your new medication and not actually a flare-up.

| Supplements | Drink water and try vitamins. Your body may just need some extra TLC.

| Don't Exercise | Skipping your workout can really help give your body some much-needed rest and time to heal.

| Breathe | Do not tense your body, breathe through the pain as much as possible. When you tense you're automatically sending signals to your brain that something is wrong - you already know something is wrong so relax as much as possible and breathe.

I really hope some of these little tips help you a bit more when it comes to being in a flare-up. I'm sending you all so much happiness and pain-free positivity!

With love, Alisha Valerie. x
