Hello June | 2020

AD | Hello my lovelies, happy Monday, I really hope that you're all having a wonderful start to your week and a fresh happy start to your month! I always love it when a new month starts on a Monday, it just makes it feel so positive, motived and like anything is possible.

I started the month hoping that lockdown would be over with quickly, I had passed my halfway point from my doctor (I was given the date of 23rd June 2020 for my health personally) and was ready to start planning what I wanted to do with my summer. Then, I got an email that changed everything... I received a new date of an extra ninety days which meant my new date to get out of lockdown is going to be September 23rd 2020.

During the middle of May, I went through a really scary time of having a rheumatoid arthritis flare-up which I haven't had in such a long time. If you follow me on Instagram then you'll probably know this already as I shared my stories but after suffering really badly and spending way too many nights of crying myself to sleep (which tbh I was hardly having sleep for more than two hours anyway), I ended up having to get an emergency hospital appointment for a steroid injection. Thankfully within seventy-two hours, it was kicked in and I'm feeling back to normal again. As much as I love our NHS, being in the hospital itself was really scary and made me feel super anxious, it was a horrible time.

I ended the month feeling really positive and motivated for the summer to start now that I'm out of the horrible pain I was in. Although I'm stuck at home due to the lockdown we are lucky enough to thankfully have a garden that we can go get some fresh air and relax in safely so when I'm not blogging and doing social media work I plan on doing as much as that as possible.

How was your May? What did you get up to? What are your goals for June and the summer months ahead? I'd love to know your thoughts so please leave me a little comment of love below and let me know your views? I'm sending you all so much love for a wonderful day x

With love, Alisha Valerie. x

  3. I hope you are doing okay! May was a weird month because it went so fast but it was good because I started a blog in May. In June, I am going to continue to blog!

  5. Aw no, I'm sorry to hear May wasn't so good for you - I hope June is better! I've been working throughout May, so it didn't feel too different to normal for me. I hope to continue with my driving lessons soon (which were cancelled during lockdown) so I'm looking forward to that in the future.

    Take care,

  6. Sorry that you had such a challenging month. We are taking the same approach here right now - we're lucky to have a nice back yard and I have purchased a hammock and hammock stand, so I spend a lot of time out in my hammock soaking up the sun when I can. In fact, I do a lot of my blog reading from exactly that spot! It makes the whole situation a little more tolerable.

  7. I'm so sorry that you were in so much pain and the date got pushed back by so much, but I guess you've got to do what's best. I have to admit I'd hate to need to go to hospital right now. I'm glad you're feeling better now though. May went by so quickly for me x

  11. Oh no. I didn't realise you had this :( I'm a reflexologist and I have a couple of clients who saw me weekly to help with their rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. I feel bad that I can't treat them.

  12. Oh that is horrible! I used to suffer from Juvenile Rheumatoid and I know that awful pain you are going through - I'm glad that it has subsided now. Here's to a lovely summer!

  13. A lot of people in my family have Rheumatoid Arthritis so I understand how horrible that must be :( I am glad you've come in to June feeling positive though! :) My May had it's ups and downs, but ultimately I've come out of it alright.

  15. I hope you are feeling better now. May was my month of getting everything done around the house so I'm going to take June at a much slower pace.

  21. Oh I'm so glad it kicked in and you're feeling much better, that sounds like such a painful thing to go through. I hope you're able to get some more sleep now. So glad you finished the month feeling more positive - and I hope that continues throughout the entirety of June even if lockdown has extended for you. Big hugs.

  22. It's nice that you feel so positive this month despite the lockdown. I know the feeling of looking forward to not being on lockdown. The month of May for me was just okay but definitely better than April was in terms of my mental health. I felt calmer in May despite being in lockdown and despite the virus' threat. As for June, well my goal is really to be better with keeping up with fitness. Quarantine weight is real! I also want to finish reading another book or two.

  25. My mom also suffers from arthritis. I'm sure she can relate to your frustrations and exhaustion. I hope that you can get to a point where you are no longer in pain!

  26. I'm glad you're feeling better now. It's already such a stressful time, I'm sorry you had to go through so much pain on top of that. It's actually winter where I live now but I still like to make the most of going outdoors and getting fresh air. I know what you mean about feeling excited for a new month starting on Monday. It feels like a clean slate, a new beginning and that's such a refreshing feeling.

  27. Happy June lovely lady! I'm sorry you had such a hard time with health. My mum suffers badly too with arthritis and she has had to have steroid injections so I know how awful it can be.

I hope you have a beautiful summer & find a way to make the best of it!

    Stay wonderful!
